This research aimed to develop and test evidence-based strategies to foster the inclusion of children (6–13) with cognitive disabilities in mainstream sport. It mapped inclusive practices across Italy, Austria, Spain and Croatia, and explored the needs and perspectives of parents and coaches to support more inclusive sport environments.
The document Method and Evaluation, in English and translated in the partnership languages (Italian, Croatian and Catalan) provides practical tools and recommendations to support grassroots sport organisations in creating more inclusive sport environments. Developed within the framework of the PlayInc4Kids Project, it aims to help clubs, coaches and educators promote participation and social inclusion for children with cognitive disabilities together with non-disabled children through sport activities.
